Gavin Geisse, age 18, is Oak Glen High School’s Lion Scholar for April 2026. Gavin is the son of Joseph and Vicky Geisse. He resides in Chester, West Virginia. Gavin has maintained a 4.24 GPA and a 1270 SAT score while taking multiple Honors, Advanced Placement, and dual-credit courses. Gavin has been actively involved in school and community activities, serving as Vice President of the National Honor Society and participating in Key Club, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, and Prom Committee. He is a four-year letterman and two-year captain of the varsity basketball team, as well as a member of the track team. Gavin has participated in community service initiatives such as helping in soup kitchens, volunteering at youth basketball camps, assisting at Allison Elementary School, planting flags at a local cemetery to honor veterans, and volunteering to help at school events. Among his honors are two-time West Virginia All-State Basketball Honorable Mention, two-time OVAC Basketball First Team, OVAC Basketball All-Star, OGHS Basketball Hack Murray Award recipient, selected for West Virginia Boys State, Junior Prom Court attendant, perfect/faithful attendance throughout high school, and Straight A Honor Roll from kindergarten through 12th grade. Gavin plans to attend West Virginia University, where he will major in Economics with the goal of pursuing either law school or medical school and a career in one of those fields.
