FUNDS AQUIRED FOR ROLLING FLAG THANKS TO GENEROSITY OF READERS

Since an article was published in HOMETOWN NEWS letting readers know the Oak Glen Alumni project was $1,650.00 short of the cost and shipping of the rolling flag, $1,650.00 was received making the project a go. Ed Fields, who spearheaded the project, said the flag will be shipped in the near future to be placed in the fieldhouse. The flag honors the late John Edwards and Bob Manypenny. The flag will be rolled out and lowered for the National Anthem and is not only a fitting memorial to the two men who donated many hours to the school, but is a patriotic and touching start to any event. Edwards sang the National Anthem before the game and the school still uses the tape of his voice. Manypenny, a vice principal and former basketball, coach, was a dedicated supporter to the school and his community.
