Aiden Flowers, an 18-year-old senior at Oak Glen High School, is the January Lions Club Scholar of the Month for Oak Glen High School. He is the son of Richard and Erica Flowers.
Aiden has been active in many school and community organizations including Everyday Church, Next Steps Missions, FCA (Fellowship of Christian Athletes), National Honor Society, and Key Club. His high school accolades include being a member of the Oak Glen Prom Court and Sadie’s Court, receiving the Scholar Athlete of the Week Award and the Academic Excellence Award for his distinguished SAT score in English/Language Arts.
Aiden earned the West Virginia Promise Scholarship and has been recognized on the Principal’s Honor Roll with a 3.92 GPA. He is a four-year letter winner in football and a two-year letter winner in track and field. Football awards and recognitions have been First Team OVAC 2021 and 2023, All Area Defensive Player, and All State Honorable Mention 2021 and 2023. In addition, Aiden was awarded the “Dennis Huff Award” as senior and named the Defensive MVP 2021 and 2023, and the Offensive MVP in 2023. Also, he was named to an OVAC Honorable Mention for 2022. As a freshman Aiden was awarded the “Doug Smith Award” and finished as a WV State Champion as a member of Oak Glen’s shuttle relay team.
After high school, Aiden plans to attend West Virginia Northern Community College in hopes of pursuing a career as a registered nurse.
