BOARD OF EDUCATION APPROVE FORM’S PILOT AGREEMENT

The Hancock County Board of Education approved a Payment in Lieu of Taxes agreement presented to then by FORM Energy. The agreement, which provides $40,000.00 per year in lieu of paying property taxes,, was approved by the Board of Education Thursday. The School system will receive approximately 70 %of the total amount received,

FORM was forgiven taxes for the next ten years as an incentive to locate in West Virginia. Officials from FORM presented the Board with a ten-year plan to provide funding for the schools and county. Included in the plan are expected employment levels which are expected to hit the 750 mark.

The teachers and school service personnel are in the process of voting for Teacher of the Year and School Service Personnel of the year which will be revealed in April.

A time-line was distributed informing Board members and the media the dates the Board must meet for the upcoming levy.

In other business, the Board:

**Approved a maternity leave for Megan Heupp;

**Accepted resignation from Cara Seymour, multi-categorical autism, Oak Glen Highh, and Daniel Owens, teacher, OGHS/WHS;

**Assigned Jill Westfall and Jamie Kropka as substitute teachers, countywide and Lynn Shilot, school nurse, Allison Elementary;

**Transferred Joe Aperfine, assistant softball, Weir High to unpaid/volunteer assistant softball;A

**Assigned Megan Ost, assistant girls’ track, and Francesca Capaldi as Head Boys Tennis, Weir High;

**Cynthia Parrish from Custodian II, Allison Elementary to Custodian II/Transportation, New Manchester;

**Kayli Ferguson Bus Operator *227, transportation dept. to Bus Operator, #123, Transportation;

**Trisha Barile, supervisory aide/AM Weirton Elementary, to Supervisory Aid II-IV/ECCAT/AM Allison Elementary;

**Aryel Kintyhtt, Supervisory Aide/AM, Weirton Elementary, to Supervisory Aide II-IV/ECCAT/AM, Allison Elementary

**Melissa Warznki, substitute cook, countywide, to Cook II, Weirton Elementary School

**Richard Antol, substitute bus driver to bus operator #124;

**John C. Airhart – substitute bus operator
