CHESTER TO ENACT ORDINANCE FOR WATER RATE INCREASES

The City of Chester will have an ordinance before them at the May 6th Council meeting that re-adopts a previous ordinance necessary for a water rate increase. Council will then take the post-adoption steps necessary to reflect the improvements being funded by three different sources. The Public Service Commission issued a communication outlining the steps necessary for the City to take and according to Chester Mayor Ed Wedgewood he has drafted the necessary resolution and received the PSC’s approval of its validity.

Wedgewood said the Chester water clerk will place an order with the local newspaper for the legal posting of “tariff 12” on Tuesday after Monday’s Council meeting on May 6. The legal will run for two consecutive weeks and the affidavit of publication will be submitted with the completed packet to the PSC for review.
