Laurie and Douglas Pettit announce the engagement and approaching marriage of their daughter, Kathryn Marie Pettit, to Tae “Daniel” Kim. Kim is the son of Kim Woo Ju and Kim Myong Hun.
Kathryn received her bachelor’s degree from Washington & Lee University and her law degree from San Diego School of Law, She is employed as an Environmental Attorney.
Dan received his education at UC Irvine and is employed as an Aerospace Engineer.
Kathryn is the granddaughter of Nita Baranowski and the late Jerry Baranowski and Tamara Pettit and the late Alan Pettit and the sister of Margaret Pettit and Jacob Pettit. Her West Virginia family includes her Aunt, Shannon Sayre, and her cousins Hillary Sayre, Abbi Elliott and Addison Sayre.
Dan has a sister and brother-in-law, Nan and Howard Son and nephews, Sammy and Timmy.
The wedding is slated for June 13, 2026 in a ceremony and reception to be held at the bride’s parents’ home.
