Dorothy Irona (Gibson) Poling, 89, of New Cumberland, WV, passed away
peacefully on June 14 at Ohio Valley Hospice. She was the daughter of the late Dorothy Jane Greenwalt and the late Michael Endrich.
She was a devoted homemaker before pursuing a career as a beautician later in life She worked at Mountaineer Park, Rivendale Care Home, and at Classic Cutters.
She was a member of the, Point Pleasant United Methodist Church, TOPS, and the Point Pleasant Ladies Aide.
She is survived by her daughter, Victoria (Jon) Meissner of New Cumberland, WV; her sons, Gregory (YiJing) Poling of Shanghai, China, and PK (Rachel) Poling of Chester, WV; 10 grandchildren; and 7 great-grandchildren.
She is also survived by her sisters, Rae Russel of Seattle, Washington, and Carol Ricca of Weirton, WV; and her sister-in-law, Patricia Guedel of Indianapolis, Indiana.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the staff of Ohio Valley Hospice, the WVU Weirton ER, and the doctors, nurses, and staff of UPMC
Montefiore Hospital 9 North for their compassionate care and support during this difficult time.
A memorial service will be held at Point Pleasant United Methodist Church on
June 27.
Friends may call from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 11:00
a.m. with Reverend Sarah Wilmoth officiating. Turley Funeral Home, LLC was
entrusted with the care of the arrangements.
