David Gene Hawkingberry’s mortal journey came to an end June 23, 2021. He has gone home to his creator and his loved ones that have passed prior. Though he is no longer on this earth in body, his love and spirit will live in the hearts and souls of all that knew him forever. He shall always be remembered lovingly by his devoted wife, Betty (McCoy) Hawkingberry, his four sons, Robert, (Breanna) Hawkingberry of New Manchester, David (Debra) Hawkingberry of Virginia, Jeramie Hawkingberry of Newell and Thomas (Teresa) Hawkingberry of Pennsylvania, his only littlest girl Yvonne (Timothy) Ward of Chester, his fourteen grandchildren and his ten great-grandchildren.
Also surviving are three brothers, John (Lisa) Hawkingberry, Thomas (Lori) Hawkingberry and Bruce Hawkingberry.
David was preceded by his parents, Luther and Oral “Pat” (Skinner) Hawkingberry; first wife Julie (Grimes) Hawkingberry; three sisters, Carol Skinner, Mary Bost and Sarah Watkins; and two grandchildren, Aleigha Hawkingberry and Savanah Ward
David was a retired Chemical Operator for Pressure Chemical.
Visitation is 2-4 and 6-8 pm on Sunday, at the Nixon Funeral Home, Newell, WV, where funeral service will be held at 11am on Monday, June 28, 2021. Interment will follow in Shadow Lawn Memory Gardens, Newell, WV.
