Ed Wedgewood was sworn in as Mayor of the City of Chester on Friday, July 1. Wedgewood, who served as a Council member prior to filing for Mayor, shared his goals for the next four years.

” My goal for this administration is to create generational change. At the end of the four years, I’d like to see all of the city streets paved, as well as refurbishing both the water and sewer plants,” said Wedgewood. “Other necessary improvements will include the replacement of our older police cruisers, stricter enforcement of unkempt properties and making sure our employees have the right equipment to help them perform their jobs correctly and efficiently.”

“I look forward to working with council, our appointed officials and our employees to help serve the City of Chester.”

Council members were sworn by City Judge Curt Parkins. Council is slated to meet for its monthly meeting July 11.
