Republican Laura Wakim-Chapman captured the District 1 Senate Seat in a race with former Delegate Randy Swartzmiller. Unofficial totals showed Wakim-Chapman with 18,621 votes to Swartzmiller’s 12,183 votes. Republicans were also successful in retaining single delegate districts 1 and 2. Pat McGeehan defeated challenger Jack Wood with 4,566 votes to Wood’s 1,453 votes in District 1. Zatezalo garnered 3,397 votes to Ronnie Jones’ 1,658 in District 2.
