OBITUARY: DENNIS ‘DENNY’ PHILLIPS

Dennis E. “Denny” Phillips, 74, of Chester, passed, Thursday, February 2, 2023, at Weirton Medical Center, following a brief illness.
Born, on April 3, 1948, in Oil City, PA., he was the son of the late James B. and Edith Davinport Phillips.
Denny deeply loved his wife Bobbi J. Fryer Phillips and they married on August 12,1988. 
He traveled extensively across the country for work with Bobbi by his side. He was well respected in his trade and a 45-year member of Plumbers and Steamfitters Local #449. After retirement, Denny established Stainless Specialties, a welding and fabrication shop.
He was an avid gardener raising beautiful flower gardens and vegetables. Denny was a great cook, and also enjoyed canning, golfing, and hunting.
Denny will be deeply missed by his wife Bobbi and children, Christine Phillips of Avon Park, FL., Joy Ongley (Terry) of Sebring, FL.., and Dean Phillips of Sebring, FL. He is survived by brothers, Robert “Bob’ Phillips (Leta), Larry Phillips, and Paul Phillips (Delores), and by his sisters-in-law Donna McCoy (Tim), Jodi Jimenez (Mike), and brother-in-law, Wayne Fryer. He will also be missed by grandchildren, Grayson Parker (Rachel), Alana Parker, Devin Delp, James Schwenk Jr, and Jesse Armstrong along with several great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
Denny was preceded in death by his by his siblings, Charles, William and James Phillips, Shirley McHugh and Beverly Skaggs.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Denny is in the care of the Arner Funeral Chapel.
