NEW CUMBERLAND LIONS

President Dorothy Hawkes brought the meeting to order.  Lion Rick Tinsky offered the prayer and Lion Andrew Kefer led the Pledge of Allegiance.  The Program was provided by Jennifer Meeker with WV Division of Rehabilitation Services.   The minutes were accepted as read and the treasurer’s report was placed on file for audit.  Communication was received from the WV Lions Sight Conservation Foundation for the donation made in memory of Lion Bob Manypenny.  Lion Jeanne Cox has received and distributed the Child Safety Seat Emergency Identification Stickers to local entities that work with children. In the event of a medical emergency and the parent or caregiver is unconscious or fatally injured, placement of these stickers ensures rapid identification of small children in car seats or boosters.  These stickers are available to everyone at no cost.  The parent or caregiver is encouraged to fill out the information on the sticker and place it on the right front corner (child’s right), under the cushion or center back of the child’s safety seat.  If your agency would like to receive these Child Safety Seat Emergency Identification stickers, please contact Amy Boggs via e-mail at [email protected] with the contact person, telephone number, quantity of Emergency Identification stickers you would like, along with the delivery address. Lion Jeanne Cox reported on the eye screening that was provided to the students of New Manchester Elementary School in conjunction with the Chester Lions Club member Tom Hineman.  Approximately 270 students received an eye screening to let them know if they needed to see an optometrist for follow-up.  The program at the March 28 meeting will be provided by the Hancock County Health Department.  Lion Tom Stiles made a motion to adjourn with a second by Lion Jeanne Cox.  The next regular meeting will be March 14 at the Christian Church.
