MEMORIAL DAY ACTIVITIES SLATED FOR NEW CUMBERLAND

The residents of New Cumberland will honor those veterans who made the ultimate sacrifice for their country with memorials and activities to mark the day. At 10:00 A.M., a service will be held at Adam Poe Post Home 3526 with former Del. Randy Swartzmiller as the speaker. At 11:00 A.M. the residents will be greeted with the Avenue of Flags at New Cumberland Cemetery as services are held there.

A Memorial Day Parade will line up at Fuccy’s lot on Second Avenue at noon with the parade to get underway at 1:00 p.m. The VFW will have free food and a live band and the New Cumberland Fire Department will have vendors. The City Park will also have vendors and activities for the kids.

The VFW is in need of volunteers to help take down the Avenue of Flags and wrap them for next years. Those wishing to help should meet at the New Cumberland Cemetary at 2:30 p.m.
