Gail Anne Milner, devoted wife, sister, and aunt, passed away at the Weirton Medical Center on Sunday, October 27, 2024, following a very brief illness.
Born on February 15, 1954, in Canton, OH, she was the daughter of the late Richard G. Milner and Barbara Ritter Wright, and she was 70 years old at the time of her passing. Gail graduated from Oak Glen High School in 1972 and earned her degree from West Virginia University in 1976. She then moved to California to launch her career in the food and beverage industry. In 2009, Gail left the bright lights of California for the peace and solitude of the Mayhew Farm in New Manchester. There, she formed a lasting union with her husband, Shields “Skip” Mayhew, who survives her.
Gail was a lifelong member of the Westminster Presbyterian Church in Chester, and a member of the East Liverpool Colloquial Club.
In addition to her husband, Skip, Gail is survived by her siblings: Melissa (Shawn) Krizan of Yorktown, VA; Robert (Abbie) Milner of Chester; and Rex (Renee) Milner of Newell. Although she never had children, her nieces and nephews were like her own: Shannon (Dustin) Vuiller; Shawn (Raenne) Milner; Emily, Ashton, and Lexi Timmons.
A memorial service for Gail will be held at the Arner Funeral Chapel in Chester on Saturday, November 23, 2024, at 3:00 p.m. With Pastor Dan Cesene officiation. Memorial visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Her ashes will be interred at the Union Cemetery in New Manchester.
