DRUG TASK FORCE MAKES ARRESTS IN NEWELL

On Wednesday, February 19, 2025, members of the Hancock-Brooke-Weirton DTF (HBWDDTF) as well as the Hancock County Sheriff’s Office and West Virginia State Police conducted multiple search warrants in the Newell, Hancock County, WV area. These search warrants were executed after months of narcotics trafficking investigations. During the execution of the search warrants, fentanyl, crystal-methamphetamine and illegal firearms were seized.

Arrested were Robert Cornman, 57, of Newell; Knight Codey Salyers, 32, of Newell, Nicholas Keller, 33, of Newell; Randy Leasure, 37, of New Cumberland, and Zachary Strub, 33, of East Liverpool.

All subjects are currently incarcerated in the Moundsville Regional Jail awaiting prosecution.

The Hancock-Brooke-Weirton Drug Task Force is comprised of members of the Weirton Police Department, Brooke County Sheriff’s Office, Hancock County Sheriff’s Office, West Virginia State Police and Drug Enforcement Administration.
