WVU Medicine Weirton Medical Center Aid in Flood Relief

In the face of adversity, communities come together—and this past week, the Weirton community proved that once again. In response to the devastating flooding in Ohio County, WVU Medicine Weirton Medical Center, in partnership with WTOV9, hosted a three-day flood relief drive to gather essential supplies for those impacted.  Over the course of the collection effort, hospital volunteers dedicated well over 22 hours to gather donations of cleaning supplies, bottled water, non-perishable food, and other much-needed items. The community responded with overwhelming generosity.  As a result, two 20-foot U-Haul trucks filled with relief supplies were delivered to flood victims in Triadelphia, WV, bringing critical assistance to families in need.

“We are proud to serve a community that shows such compassion and unity in times of crisis,” said David Artman, WVU Medicine Weirton Medical Center CEO and president.  “These efforts reflect the strength and resilience of our region.”

WVU Medicine Weirton Medical Center extends heartfelt thanks to all who donated, volunteered, and helped spread the word.
