Well, hello everyone. I feel like it’s been forever since we last talked. So, let’s get caught up. We’ve been closed due to the weather, and have had to postpone a couple of events. We’re so sorry for that, but we want to be sure y’all are safe. It won’t be long until the weather will be better.

So, let’s start with this weekend’s event. Who’s ready for a MOVIE ? Me, Me, MEEEE. This Saturday, February 19 at 11:00, we will be watching Gnomeo & Juliet. We’ll start off with a craft, then watch the movie and have popcorn and water. No need to register, just come on out for some fun. It’s FREE of charge for students up through 4th grade.

Since we’re talking about Saturdays, we just had our Formal FRENZY last Saturday, and had great participation. We had almost 100 gowns for shoppers to look through. We had a wide variety of sizes and styles. With everything from short ones, long ones, form fitting ones, full skirted ones, beads, sequins, mother of the bride, bridesmaid, wedding, you name it, we had it. It was so exciting to see people walking out with the perfect gown for them. And YES everyone, we WILL be doing this every year in February. So, if you missed it this year, that’s ok. Gather those gowns now for next year.

Mark those calendars for Saturday, February 26, and plan to be at the library from 11-1 for an interesting day of  Fun with Science.  We will have different stations set up for you to learn about light, make shadows and reflections, do a little art, and have a good time. Don’t miss out on all the fun. This is a FREE Program, so why not plan to stop by and check it out?

Sadly, our Reading with Rover had to be postponed due to the ice storm we had. But don’t worry. It’s going to be rescheduled for a Saturday in March. As soon as we get a date set, we’ll be sure to let you know.

Interested in learning a new craft? We have our Sit & Stitch group that meets EVERY Friday of EVERY month, 11-1 and 4-6. Come see what everyone is working on and learn to knit, crochet, embroider or cross stitch. We’d love to teach ya.

Let’s not forget about GAME NIGHT. It’s the first Thursday of EVERY month at 4:00. We love having families come and play games together. So, whether board games or cards are your favorite, stop in and play a game or two with us. I just learned how to play Uno Attack this month and I LOVED IT!

Our Winter/Spring Session for Storytime is underway, and we’re having a blast. If you haven’t joined us yet, we meet every Wednesday from 11-12. This session runs through April 6, 2022. It’s open to all children up to 5 years old.  We read stories, learn songs, make a craft, and socialize with our new friends. We’re working on our ABCs, our numbers and colors, and we’re starting to learn the days of the week and months of the year. But most of all, we’re just have a terrific time. Come join us. You’ll see.

Have you been enjoying our Take & Make Projects? These crafts are designed for children up through 4th grade. A new Take & Make will be ready for you to stop in and pick up, every Monday. It’ll have all the supplies you’ll need, aside from glue, crayons, tape, and maybe staples on occasion. But most everyone has those things at home already. Remember to post your Take & Make project once you’ve made it, so we all can enjoy it. If you’ve missed any of the projects, just let us know and we’ll be sure to get ya all caught up.

Remember to keep an eye on our Facebook Page, Lynn Murray Memorial Library, to see all the upcoming events we have in store for you. You’ll also find our daily 4:00 Story, NEW RELEASE books, New To Us books, pictures from our events, and so much more.  Until next time…..grab a book and let your imagination take you places you’ve never been.   Connie
